night-time bubbles
I wasn’t sure how to show off night-time bubbles, but I think this captured this past weekend’s grand exit just perfectly. She looks like Cinderella! (Jennifer & Sam)
a hot air balloon engagement
I received a phonecall to see if I was free to wake up early Sunday morning with a long telephoto lens. I received updates via text message on where to go and took photos of a lovely couple who are now engaged. To top it off she never knew why I was taking the photos (until after he popped the question up in the air. I guess I look like an advantageous hot air balloon photographer. More to come with these two. Man, what a fun weekend!

Videography by Silver Media
I/we shoot stills for all the wedding gigs. Now as time moves along and technology keeps on progressing, the line between stills and video are being blurred. I won’t say much but just take a look at the D90, or the 5d Mark II. That aside a good old friend of mine has been shooting wedding videography for a while now, with his latest venture taking place in France. If you need some good kicking awesome wedding videography, give them a shout and tell em I sent you there. I couldn’t decide which video to highlight/show off so I’ll post both. The first is actually of Hurricane Ike & the second is the teaser from France.

Photos are up. Enjoy.
San Diego + Tijuana
Well. Hello readers of the blog. I felt it was necessary to post again, because that’s what bloggers do. They post stuff. I took a much needed break from my daily grind and flew out west this past weekend (Fri-Mon) to a two day concert fest called Street-Scene. It was an absolute blast shooting for the bands on Friday and hearing some them perform.
To just name a few: Hot Chip, the New Pornographers, Spoon, Atmosphere, Beck, Vampire Weekend, and Devotchka were just some of my favorites I got to hear, and most I got to photograph. (links to their sites are on street-scene’s website). I haven’t recovered yet from the jet lag, but I have one photo to show you for now taken of Spoon. It’s probably my favorite shot from the music side of things. If you didn’t notice, weddings are my main gig, but I occasionally shoot the music scene.

My friends and I did a ton of things in that amount of time. We probably saw a good 20% of San Diego and a tiny bit of Tijuana. We had a great meal on the roof of one of the restaurants, which is right across from a Botox clinic. Gosh I can’t remember the name of the place, but just look for a Botox clinic next to a hotel, and across the street you’ll find a good Mexican eatery. They have strong margaritas too, so you’ve been warned… or informed. read more…
hannah miller, spreadsheets and wedding planning
This afternoon, while borrowing my neighbor’s wireless signal I began to look around for some online print-order-form soltuions, while still staying away from an online e-cart solution. I just don’t think they’re necessary at this point. As we know, Google is taking over the world. I began to hunt for some spreadsheet solutions and came across a nice wedding oriented template:
Wedding planning spreadsheet: While I’m no where near getting hitched myself, I found this planner spreadsheet to be quite cool and useful. See the template preview here.
savannah’s slideshow
This just in. Teresa & Lloyd’s full slideshow can be found here. But here’s the trick. A password is set and you’ll have to get in touch with her about that. I’ll highlight a few of them though, after they went through a little editing.

I’m sure they’d love a gift or a postcard

once the ceremony was over, everyone partied like rockstars.

This is just a taste of their wonderful wedding day. Check out the password protected slideshow here.
if my desk could talk
I’ve always said, that you can take a look at how busy I am by just looking at my desk. Keyboard is shoved to the right with a mountain of probably important stuff to the left. Last weekend’s hurricane stole my weekend, which coincidentally was bills weekend. I juggle a lot during the week and am really looking forward to getting things straight around here. Sometimes I think I’ve got it going, and then other times I look around and see where I need to polish up. That sappy stuff aside, I’d like to show you one of my first downtown discoverings that stays in my room. I also picked up some more flash power. I’m still mastering all of what goes into flash powered photographs, but I’m determined to show that the natural-light-specialist-photographer means that they’re scared-ey cats of using a flash.
I don’t ever ever ever expect this photo to have any recognition, but it sure is cool that one little light can spread a beam that wide to cover a building. The pic below is straight from the camera. I didn’t want to fool anyone. All from just 4 double-a batteries (the battery pack i think is broken, or dead, same difference). flash
That’s it for now. Time to clean off this desk and get back to some wedding photos.
