Leigh & Scott – sneak peek

Leigh & Scott whisked us away to North Myrtle Beach for their wedding, but before that we did a quick engagement session right across the river in North Augusta. Rain always makes for lovely pictures (and is welcomed in this summertime heat). Here’s just a few goodies from the many many photographs shot for their family in and out-of-town. Stay tuned for more photos!

Ruth & Jerry – married at 83

Long story short, my grandmother Ruth and Jerry were married on Tuesday. They met at Cumberland Village in Aiken and were wed at Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken. This all went down at 2pm. My girlfriend and I were the only ones present, besides the pastor. My grandmother and Jerry wanted to keep things simple and low-key. For those that don’t know, my grandmother raised me since I was a baby. Effectively, she is whom I call mom and grandma. I believe I was only four weeks (or four months) old when she became my mother. I love her and am forever thankful. It was so great to spend a couple hours photographing for her and Jerry (and for the rest of our families). July is the busiest time of the year for me, so to have the free-time to witness and record such a wedding is such a blessing. I hope you enjoy these as much as we did. Check back in a day or two for the video (if I can ever figure out how to upload it).

What a neat couple. Big thanks to Brent for 2nd shooting in a time of need. Had fun editing the Nikon raw files (killer at low-light hello ISO4000). Kinda went on a black & white kick for this blog post. It just looks too good not to, which is the point right? Jessica’s father looks so proud walking her down the isle. Some of the goofy photos, well I hope make you laugh a bit (like the group shot).
The DJ played some great music that kept everyone dancing until it was time to call it quits. The wedding was at Paine College ( HUGE CHAPEL ) and the reception was at the Savannah Rapids Pavillion. Congrats you two, I hope you love these photographs for many years to come. p.s. I didn’t try the cake this time, but boy does it look delicious in the photographs! Melia & Trey

I really enjoyed getting to know Melia & Trey. They’re now living in sunny San Diego, but before that they had a grand wedding in downtown Aiken. The salon was right next to the church and the church was right around the corner from the reception, making travel a breeze between each location. That made the day nice and relaxed with plenty of time for everything.

Their entire day was full of family and friends, just how it should be. Everyone witnessed the celebration of these two coming together at Curtis Baptist church and the municipal building in North Augusta. I love the fact that they went to NC for their honeymoon, kayaks and everything.

It was a pleasure to photograph for Molly & Jason on a cooooold January day ( it was in the low 20′s! ). Did you see her bridal session blog post? If not, check the link because it rocked. They had a wonderful wedding filled with family and friends that danced the night away. I really enjoyed everyone I met and wish M&J a life of happiness with each other. Their family was a hoot and the irish dancing was a sweet unique gift for the newlyweds. Enjoy the photos below. There’s a lot. Their evening ended sitting around a big table with their closest friends & family. It was a sweet moment to to witness. It is to have a big family to share your wedding day with. ( wow I’m getting sappy now! love this job!!! )

Caitie & Chris – Goldsboro, North Carolina Wedding

I met Chris when he lived in Augusta. We became good friends during his stay here. Caitie and Chris tied the knot at Whitley Church in North Carolina. It wasn’t in the mountains. It was still beautiful. Everyone was having a blast, despite the cold temperatures. Even the groomsmen in their flip flops survived This wedding was extra special and I’m honored we were able to be a part of it. I’ve finished all the photos, which you can see on PRINTS.DONNANPHOTO.COM (password is her maiden name)

Goldsboro, North Carolina - Friday it smelled like a chicken farm. Saturday it didn't smell. Thankful.

They couldn't see each other. It was cute.

We attended the rehearsal dinner as guests and I spotted these lollipops at the kids table. Here they are.

Ladies you're crazy. Look at those heels. See Caitie in that dress by a river in a previous blog post.

Kids rooms always make for interesting backdrops when getting ready.

North Carolina Wedding – Sneak Peek

Wow. Amazing how just a few Christmas lights strung up in the ceiling of a church can change a normal hallway into something amazing. You two rocked the camera so well. Here’s a few images that just jumped out of my monitor and onto the blog!

Crunched for time, I had this canvas drop-shipped to the client’s home in North Carolina. I was just as excited to see it for the first time as they were. All that hard work of scouting, putting on camo waders and helping the gorgeous Caitie out onto the rock was totally worth it. Thank you everyone who was involved with this shoot. I couldn’t of done it without you.

Canvas prints can be wrapped, or painted any color for the edge. We went with black for this one.

Rebecca & Trey – Sacred Heart & the Marbury Center

It’s been such a pleasure working with Rebecca & Trey. I simply love being able to photograph the whole shibang ( engagement & bridal ). Just two weeks ago these two tied the knot in downtown Augusta at the beautiful Sacred Heart, followed by a fun reception at the Marbury Center on broad st. The two are so close a lot of people just walked from one to the other. Very convenient.

Chair coverings are a must for Sacred Heart. Simply gorgeous with them.

I loved their idea to do the "grand exit" after the ceremony. More people = more bubbles.

Tip: Don't throw dead animals on brides.

Yeah, he was dressed good.

They saw each other for the first time. It's a lovely moment captured.

Aw, this is so cute. I guess when film cameras were the only thing available this probably didn't happen as much.

I could whine about how I lost my vivitar flash and pocketwizard, but then I would be whining to people who would most likely prefer to see some pretty pictures vs. hear someone whine on the internet. I 2nd shot this for Sarah. It was at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion, which is a nice place to shoot at, but I would only recommend this venue if you like climbing up and down hills. Once you’re down at the water level though, the breeze is cool and the weather is a lot more tolerable. Their day’s schedule left us with plenty of time to take some fun group photos too.

Candice & Rashad – the dance party

If you’ve got speakers play something fun when viewing this post. These two lovebirds booked us up a loong time ago and recently were married at the Savannah Rapids Pavilion. Everyone danced their booty off and then some. Their DJ was a blast to work with, but I only caught his name not his business name. (Phil Clarke – if you need his # let me know)

1st dance

Cameras were everywhere. This cute girl came up to us and began taking our photo while we grabbed a bite to eat.

The cake cutting was intense! Look at all the people crowded around me! I couldn't move haha.

Cut, smash, taste, kiss.

Explosions of light! I try to keep them dialed down, but some of the other cameras around us triggered at the same time to produce this effect.

This girl was so fun to watch dance! Sarah and I couldn't stop laughing at times.

Sarah I can see your feet, but it's ok because this photo is still cute.

Nicole & Wes – amazing!

PHEW! This was a huge blog post, but I just had to make it to show how awesome and fun this wedding was. Click this link and go to page 2 to see the rest of the slideshow.

Nicole & Wes were like the clients everyone dreams of. Smart, funny, gorgeous and so easy to work with. The day of we spent 2 hours or so just taking photos of them to all around town. As soon as we got back to the church it began to pour down raining! Thankfully we were all indoors before the bottom of the sky dropped out. We took portraits in North Augusta, the wedding was at a church near the mall (Sharon Baptist) & the reception was held at Fort Gordon (Gordon Club). We had a blast with these two.

Her makeup artist had been up since 4am! What a trooper!

"The Bride is Coming!" (EVERY wedding needs a kid to skip down the isle yelling this. it is SOO CUTE)

During the ceremony a short dance was even performed. So artsy and different.

They also jumped the broom at the end of the ceremony. There were drummers drumming during this portion.

Everyone danced out of the ceremony. There was joy everywhere. Check out the animated photo of the kiss (above).

Wes didn't know how to bustle her dress. Every groom should know how to do this lol.

They even rented a Rolls Royce from Atlanta. It was classy! (click image for the vendor) Here they are pulling into Fort Gordon.

Ring Bling!

Dad looked like this all day basically.

The newlyweds!

I always love the moments captured right after they say I do.

Tori came to me during a bridal show downtown last year. The show didn’t have a huge turnout, but it was a good one nonetheless. I’ve enjoyed getting to know her and Marcus through the engagement and bridal photoshoots and now finally their wedding! This all went down in Columbia, SC. We love shooting in Columbia!
